This project shows that price, system size, capacity, policy, and data quality all need to be considered together when evaluating solar development.

Accurate information and supportive energy policies will remain important for future clean-energy planning in Washington State.

Resources

Solar Energy Industries Association — Washington Solar and Storage

EnergySage — The Cost of Solar Panels in Washington

U.S. Energy Information Administration — Washington Electricity Profile

Washington State Legislature — Net Metering of Electricity

Washington State Department of Commerce — Clean Energy Transformation Act

Washington State Department of Commerce — Clean Energy Community Grant Awards

Berkeley Lab — Distributed Solar 2020 Data Update

Internal Revenue Service — Residential Clean Energy Credit

 Full Report

Student project by Anas Mohamed and Mauro Martinez Overview Washington State’s solar market has grown over time, with much of the earlier growth coming from residential customer-sited systems.
